Online Photo Contest “Say Hi to Taiwan”
Taiwan’s Government Information Office (GIO) announced its internet competition for foreigners promoting Taiwan and its tourism.
Minister Yang shared that Taiwan is home to beautiful scenery, world-renowned delicacies, stylish malls and boutiques, and friendly people. This is why Taiwan has become a favorite destination of travelers of all stripes. He expressed the hope that this contest will attract even more people from around the globe to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of Taiwan.
The contest is a three-stage competition “Say Hi to Taiwan with Your Photo and Win a Trip.” Foreign citizens are invited to form travel teams with Taiwanese and upload photos they take in Taiwan to the activity website activity.taiwan.gov.tw/twfriends/ before November 21st. Online voting between November 21st and November 30th will determine three winning teams, each to be awarded NT$100,000 (US$3,335) fro a one-week trip in the country.
Next, one-day tour proposals will be posted online for voting between November 21st and December 8th to choose Taiwan’s top three attractions.
IN the last stage, the three wining teams will visit the three top destinations and other sites of their choice between December 12th and the 19th. Each team will host a Facebook site and post daily reports. GIO will confer awards fro best content, best picture and most popular with a cash prize for each.
