This new way of shrimp farming is a patented invention by Dr. Shyh-Ming Hsiao of the Aquaculture Department of National Kaoshiung Marine University. It has revolutionized the conventional method of large-pond shrimp farming. This environmentally-friendly technique is estimated to reduce by up to 99% the amount of land needed for shrimp farming and will drastically decrease labor and site management costs. The speech of “The Innovation of Shrimp Farming” was held in Chinatown Culture Plaza, February 7, 2008 by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Honolulu.
