2012 Visa Instruction

The jurisdiction area of this office covers the State of Florida, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bermuda Islands, Bahamas and British Turks and Caicos Islands.

 

(A)  Visa Waiver Program: Visa is not required for stay up to 30 days (non-extendable) for 34 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States and Vatican City State. Up to 90 days for 4 countries: Ireland, Japan, New Zealand and United Kingdom.

 

(B)   Visitor Visa: Visitors who are not the passport holders for the visa waiver program and the visitors of the visa waiver who are intended to visit Taiwan for over 30 days.

 

Basic Requirements:

1.          On-line Visa application completed, printed out and signed (please go to the following website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_MRVWeb/subroot/MRVWeb0_form.jsp )

2.          A passport valid for at least 6 months.

3.          Visa process fee, non-refundable (See Note 1)

4.          Two color passport photo taken within the last six months. (see Note 2)

5.          A confirmed return air ticket or an air ticket to another country.

6.          No criminal record found by the government of Taiwan.

7.          Evidence of funds to cover expenses in Taiwan

8.          Non-U.S. passport holders: Proof of legal status in the United States (Valid U.S. residence card, employment visa or student visa)

 

Additional Requirements:

1.      For business purpose: 1) An invitation letter from Taiwan. 2) An employment letter.

2.      For tourism purpose: 1) An employment letter or a student status letter from school, I-20 and a copy of student ID. 2) An invitation letter or traveling plan.

3.      For Minor (under 20 years of age): 1) A copy of the minor’s birth certificate 2) both parents or legal guardian’s permission form 3) both parents or legal guardian’s passport copy.

4.      持美國護照之中華民國國民或其直系親屬，請附上有效之中華民國護照影本，則無須提供其他文件。

(C)  Visa Processing Time and Fee:

a. U.S. Passport

Ø          $ 160.00 for single and multiple entries(5 business days)

Ø          $ 210.00 for single and multiple entries (1-2 Business Day).

b. Other Passports

Ø          Single entry $50.00, Multiple entries $100.00(5 business days).

Ø          Single entry $75.00, Multiple entries $150.00(1-2 Business Day)

 

(D)  Return Postage: If submit application by mail, please prepare return postage. Add postage to the money order with the visa processing fee.

Ø          Express Mail - $19.00，Priority Mail-$5.25

Ø          Postage provide above is for ONE application only, if more than one application please add $1.00 for each additional application.

 

 

(E)   Resident Visa: Visitor who intend to stay over 6 months must apply for a Resident Visa in advance, please get information at: www.boca.gov.tw/english/index.htm

 

 

        Note 1: We accept money order or cash ONLY, no personal check or company checks.

Note 2: Passport photo must be 2 x 2, identical full face photo, front view with a plain white background and must be professional photographed and developed photo. Do not wear a hat or headgear, dark glasses or nonprescription glasses are not acceptable. DO NOT STABLE PHOTO TO APPLICATION.
