• 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm: walk-in services (Limited to 40 applicants. No walk-ins on the last working day of the month.)

【Making Appointment】

Please have your email, name, phone number and last 4 digits of your passport number ready when booking.

Please visit our consular website (https://www.roc-taiwan.org/cayvr_en/cat/14.html) for application requirements. Please print and fill out the application form in advance and bring it with you when coming for your appointment.

1. Online Reservation (No Phone Reservation)
(1) Please go to our Online Service Reservation System to make an appointment.
(2) Website: tecovancouver.com
(3) For urgent application due to emergency or humanitarian reasons, such as attending a funeral or visiting a critically ill family member, please briefly explain the situation and provide relevant proofs by emailing yvr@mofa.gov.tw
- funeral or critical illness: please provide death certificate, hospital notice and proof of relationship, etc.
- time sensitive application: please provide official documents, bank notice letters or contracts

2. Appointment Availability:
(1) New time slots for the next half-month will be available to book at 9 am every 1st and 16th of the month (including weekends and holidays), e.g.
Starting March 1, appointments for March 16-31 will be available for booking,
Starting March 16, appointments for April 1-15 will be available for booking,
Starting April 1, appointments for April 16-30 will be available for booking,
Starting April 16, appointments for May 1-15 will be available for booking, etc.
(2) When all time slots are fully booked (the page will show “No availability”), please wait for the next set of appointments.
(3) Alternately, please check the website regularly as time slot may become available when someone cancels their appointments, or consider applying by mail or walk-in services.

3. Service Selection:
(1) Select the type of application that you want to make, and fill in all required information.
(2) For multiple applications, please specify the number of applications and the number of applicants at the remarks column before submitting.

【How to Fill in your Application Information】
1. Surname: Please fill in your English surname.
2. Given Name: To protect your personal information, please type in only the first 3 letters of your English name only (e.g.: Yi-Ping HUANG, please fill in "Yip" in the first name field).
3. Verification of Identification: Please present your passport or other government-issued ID while apply in person with this office.
4. Passport: Please fill in the last 4 digits of your passport number.
5. Lost Passport: Please click on the "Other official photo ID" option and fill in the last 4 yards of any other government issued photo ID (e.g. driver's license).

【Appointment Confirmation, Modification and Cancellation】
1. Appointment Confirmation: Please check your appointment confirmation email from the online reservation system.
2. To change the time or cancel the reservation: Please click on "Reschedule Appointment" or "Cancel Appointment" at the bottom of the confirmation email should you need to do so.
3. If something happens on the day of your reservation, you must call this office at 604-689-4111 to cancel your reservation. Failing to come for your scheduled appointment could affect your right to make future reservations.

【Health Conditions】
1. Please do not come to this office if you have fever, cough, or other influenza symptoms.
2. Please wear a mask and keep a safe social distance when you come.

【Processing Times】※Processing time starts from the receipt of complete applications and documents.
(Effective June 12, 2023)
1. Visa: Applications are open in accordance with government regulations and instructions. Applicants who meet the requirements will be informed by email or phone upon approval of the application.
2. Passport: 35 working days
3. Passport (Non-chipped, valid for 1 year): 15 working days
4. Non-verifiable documentary authentication: 7 working days
5. Documents need verification: 10 working days after verification with the relevant agencies/organizations
6. Certificate of entry and exit date record: 10 working days for photocopy, 25 working days for true copy
7. Entry permit for Taiwanese passport holders without a national ID No.: 7 working days (with a valid Taiwanese passport)
