4th University Scholars Leadership Symposium 2013
Humanitarian Affairs United Kingdom would like to invite outstanding youth leaders from your university to participate in the 4th University Scholars Leadership Symposium in Manila, Philippines from August 1st – 7th, 2013. The symposium is endorsed by the United Nations Department of Social Affairs and the United Nations Youth Unit in New York.
This annual programme for leadership in social change is specifically designed to provide the next generation of leaders with an understanding of key sustainable development challenges as well as motivation to realise their potential as agents of change. This will be achieved through training with international peers and interactions with experienced humanitarian leaders.
UNESCO and Humanitarian Affairs are awarding prize money of USD 2,000 to winning outreach projects, either individual or team efforts, under our new segment, ‘Voice for Social Change’. All projects are to focus on the eight Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations.
Humanitarian Affairs believes in the holistic development of global-minded citizens and this symposium would certainly be an inspiring learning opportunity for your students, not only in terms of personal development, but more importantly, in reaching out to communities in need.
