<h1>TECO in Miami celebrates President Ma’s Inauguration</h1>

<p>Taipei Economic and Cultural Office hosted a Reception celebrating the Inauguration of President Ma Ying-jeou on May 17th. Director General of TECO, Ray Mou, addressed to over 200 guests including the Hon. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, former Congressman and Co-Chair of Taiwan Caucus, the Hon. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, State House majority leader, and Ambassador James Cason, the mayor of Coral Gables, as well as leaders of Chinese communities from Miami, Tampa and Orlando<P><BR/>Director Mou said that President Ma Ying-jeou has achieved peace across the Taiwan Strait without sacrificing the sovereignty of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and demonstrated the power of this country in international humanitarian assistance. The event was highlighted by traditional Taiwanese folk arts show, presented by a group of craftsmen who traveled from Taiwan. The guests were delighted of the chance to appreciate the talents such as paper umbrellas, dragon bearded candy (cotton candy), dough figures, fragrant sachets, woven bamboo, traditional toys, and aboriginal crafts.</p>
