Mr. Peters Chen, Education Director of the TECC has signed MoU with Prof Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore and Prof. Renu Jain, Vice Chancellor of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) to establish “Taiwan Education Centre” (TEC). Under this MoU, Taiwanese Mandarin teacher will teach on campus and bridge bilateral education and cultural exchanges. This is the first TEC in Madhya Pradesh and the 33rd all over India.
H.E. Amb. Baushuan Ger, Mr. Chun-Yu Chang, Director General of the TECC in Mumbai, Prof. Avinash Sonawane, Dean of International Relations, IIT Indore and faculties of the two universities together witnessed the signing.
In his speech to the faculties, Amb. Ger pointed out that the international supply chain realignment is unstoppable. Many Taiwanese enterprises currently look for new destination to relocate. Those Indian students who take this golden opportunity to work hard on learning Mandarin and Taiwanese culture at the Taiwan Education Centre will serve as promoting potential business cooperation. There are semiconductor courses under IIT Indore curriculum which provide as an advantage for students to combine technology and Mandarin skills to work in Taiwanese ICT companies. Especially, Director Joshi and Vice Chancellor Jain have visited Taiwan recently. The warm hospitality they have received during their stay was impressive. Both heads of universities look forward to starting the Mandarin courses very soon.
Before MoU signing, Amb. Ger and his colleagues were warmly welcomed to join a meeting with enterprises of Indore hosted by Ms. Sapna Anurag Jain, Head of Regional Office, Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MP-IDC). Ms. Yu-Chi Chen, Economic Director of the TECC briefed on Economic Relations between Taiwan and India and encouraged representatives of food processing and pharmaceutical industry to visit Taiwan and participate in the flagship exhibitions. This will be beneficial to connect with key business venders in Taiwan and to explore business opportunities with Taiwan.
