Taipei Mission in Sweden holds reception to celebrate the inauguration of the 14th president and vice president of Republic of China

Taipei mission in Sweden held a reception at Sheraton hotel to celebrate the inauguration of the 14th president and vice president. Swedish parliamentarians, government officials, ambassadors, diplomats, think tanks, scholars and overseas Chinese, were among the guests, more than 70 people in total.
In his speech, Ambassador to Sweden Daniel Liao talked about the three peaceful transfers of power towards democracy that the Republic of China has undergone. He also briefly summarized President Tsai´s inaugural speech on May 20 saying that President Tsai´s policies will focus on strengthening the economy, social welfare, regional and cross-strait relations as well as dealing with major issues such as globalization.
Ambassador Liao stressed that he believes that there will be a new chapter in the bilateral relations between Taiwan and Sweden, especially in economy and trade under the rule of president Tsai. Ambassador Liao ended the speech by inviting all guests to raise a toast to congratulate the new president and vice president as well as for a continued stable development of bilateral relations.
