The work of Taiwanese artist Kuang-yi Ku has featured in the’ Designing Desire’ exhibition, launched by the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) in Liverpool on 12 October.
Supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, the exhibition invited Kuang-yi Ku and fellow artists Moreshin Allahyrai and Joey Holder to explore the future of 3D printing within their respective fields. The artworks call into question the fixed ways people often think about their bodies, identities, gender and biological capabilities.
As well as being an artist, Kuang-yi Ku is also a professional dentist. Throughout his artwork, he merges his knowledge of dentistry with his interests in sexuality, technology, queer culture and society. Held at FACT’s headquarters, the exhibition is free to enter and will continue until 5 November 2017.
