Target group
Students from Slovenian and Croatian Universities who are non-native Mandarin Chinese speakers are offered funding to complete a Mandarin Chinese language course at the National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung.
Duration, tuition and costs

o The course takes place in two groups. Either from 01.07. to 26.07. or from 29.07. to 23.08.2024.
o Language lessons take place Monday to Friday mornings (9:00-12:00).
o Courses for beginners to advanced students (4 language levels are offered)
o Cultural program and excursions
The costs for the language course, flight, accommodation, insurance etc. must be covered by the students themselves:
o Tuition fee: 26000 NTD (approx. 761€) (rate as of 23.01.2024: 1€=~ 34,18NTD)
o Accommodation on campus is limited. Fees are subject to change.
Four-bed room: 4300 NTD (approx. 126€) / two-bed room: 8600 NTD (approx. 252€)
o Living costs are individual, but are estimated to average around 350-450€ for one month.
Financial support from the MOE
The MOE offers financial support in the amount of 6000 NTD (~176€) per participant per week (for 4 weeks approx. 704€). The NSYSU will apply for the subsidy at the MOE after the application period ends. It may take a few weeks for the MOE to approve the funding. Afterwards the NSYSU will pay out the subsidy to the students. If the participant is absent from the course, the funding must be reimbursed by the participant.
