Ambassador Douglas Hsu told the Australian Financial Review that Taiwan seeks to participate in AUKUS Pillar II, emphasising Taiwan’s strong capabilities in advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
He noted that like-minded partners are closely monitoring China’s coercive actions and military activities in the Pacific, and stressed that strengthened cooperation and deterrence are essential for maintaining regional stability.
The interview underscores Taiwan’s commitment to contributing to regional security and technological collaboration, while reinforcing the importance of multilateral partnerships in addressing shared challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
