范處長夫婦10月28日偕許主事訪視2024年金豆杯（Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition)總冠軍，來自台灣的Espresso Club Australia, Sam Shih老師，分享其在澳洲奮鬥發展，並在國際舞臺上發光發熱的經歷。Sam老師並當場手沖冠軍咖啡及露了一手私房菜單氮氣咖啡，搭配信手拈來的拉花技術，小編連喝三杯都還回味無窮，醇厚芬香。
Sam 老師來自台灣，十幾年前移民澳洲昆士蘭，從高科技IT工程師、咖啡愛好者到咖啡教師，憑著深厚的咖啡知識，19年來經營咖啡廳、咖啡學校，培訓咖啡師、輔導開業咖啡店經營，在澳洲教授數千名咖啡師。

On October 28, Director-General Fan, Mrs Fan, accompanied by Officer Carrie Hsu, visited Mr. Sam Shih of Expresso Club Australia, the 2024 Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition champion from Taiwan.
Sam shared his journey of working hard in Australia and shining on the international stage. He demonstrated hand-brewing his championship coffee and introduced his signature nitrogen coffee, which left us craving more even after three cups, thanks to its rich and aromatic taste.
Originally from Taiwan, Mr. Sam Shih immigrated to Queensland, Australia, 30 years ago. Transitioning from a high-tech IT engineer and coffee enthusiast to a coffee instructor, Sam leveraged his extensive coffee knowledge. Over the past 19 years, he has managed cafes, run a coffee school, trained baristas, and helped launch coffee shops across Australia, teaching thousands of baristas.
Sam has served as a judge at the world-renowned Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition for many years and has won numerous awards. This year, he took home the 2024 Golden Bean Cup overall championship trophy from Melbourne.
For Sam, if tea represents Taiwan’s heritage, then coffee embodies the culture of enjoying life in Australia. The journey of Taiwanese immigrants in Australia is like a cup of coffee—its initial bitterness is eventually replaced by a lingering sweetness.
