We are delighted to share the success of the recent Medical Staff Exchange between Taiwan Adventist Hospital (TAH) and Mater Hospital in Brisbane — a Sister Hospital partnership that continues to flourish.
For over 35 years, Mater has been a trusted healthcare partner for the Taiwanese community in Queensland, caring for generations of Taiwanese migrants and their families. This enduring bond is built on mutual respect, generosity, and a shared spirit of compassionate care.
During the week-long program, two doctors and two nurses from TAH visited Mater’s hospitals, education, and research teams. They observed minimally invasive and robotic surgeries, explored clinical simulation and digital innovation, and exchanged ideas on hospital management and nursing workforce development. The team was deeply inspired by Mater’s mission-driven culture and strong tradition of philanthropy.
The delegation also joined the Taiwan National Day Celebrations in Brisbane, warmly engaging with members of the Taiwanese community — adding a special highlight to their visit.
Director-General William Fan was honoured to host the TAH delegation during their stay, expressing sincere appreciation to Ambassador Bruce Hung for his leadership in fostering this collaboration, and to Mr. Luca Fu, Patron of the Mater Foundation, for his continued advocacy and support.
This partnership not only advances medical excellence but also deepens friendship and understanding between Taiwan and Australia.
