To promote people-to-people exchanges, increase mutual understanding and encourage interaction of ROC youth with those of other countries, , Republic of China (Taiwan) welcomes working holiday makers coming to Taiwan to work temporarily and to experience a foreign culture through their maximum a year long stay in Taiwan. The Working Holiday visa scheme does not apply to those who wish to seek full-time jobs, to study, or to stay longer than allowed period.
If your purpose of stay has changed, you should seek and apply for other type of visa that best suits your need. It may require you to leave Taiwan, apply the visa at one of the Taiwan's overseas Consular Offices and reenter with a new, valid visa.
