Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu cordially welcomed the delegation of Academia Sinica, led by President James C. Liao, at the soft launch of Australia’s first Vogue Cafe. In addition to the distinguished members of the Taiwanese Scholars Association of Australia (TSAA), Professor Barney Glover, Commissioner of Jobs and Skills Australia, and Professor Deborah Sweeney, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Western Sydney University, were also invited to honor President Liao. During the pleasant dinner, academic leaders from Taiwan and Australia exchanged views on talent development, the net-zero transition and potential tech collaboration.
As our new President, Lai Ching-Te, reminded us in his inauguration speech, “In this era of globalization and wide-ranging competition, no one country can go it alone or can successfully meet these challenges.” We look forward to fostering more connections and forging further collaborations in academics and research between Taiwan and Australia in the near future.
