On February 18, 2022, Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) of the Brussels-Wallonia Federation (FWB), Belgium, held an online workshop to kick off the 2023-2024 Taiwan-Belgium MOST-FNRS Bilateral Mobility Program. The online workshop was staged with the physical support of Taiwan’s Representative Office in Brussels.
While Dr. Véronique Halloin, FNRS Secretary General, and Ambassador Tsai Ming-yen jointly opened the workshop, they both reaffirmed the fruitful long-term cooperation between Taiwan and the FWB in the field of scientific research and advanced technologies. Furthermore, they noted the fact that the current R&I development focuses of Taiwan and the FWB are highly complementary, which makes it all the more worthwhile to increase cooperation for greater mutual benefit.
The online workshop attracted nearly 40 participants from Taiwan and Belgium. This significant number of participants demonstrates the widespread interest from academia in the FWB and Taiwan, for developing international scientific exchanges and cooperation with each other. The enthusiasm will certainly lead to even more fruitful Taiwan-FWB scientific cooperation in the future.
