Viruses do not respect borders. In the face of shared global health threats, the international community must unite in a collective response. This is the only way to achieve the ultimate goal of Health for All.
108 Members of the European Parliament, Belgian and Luxembourg Parliament cosigned a joint letter addressed to Dr. Tedros A. Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, supporting Taiwan’s participation at the 76th WHA on 21 May and in all WHO meetings, mechanisms, and activities.
Quite a few of members of the European Parliament also express their support by posting #WHONeedsTaiwan & #LetTaiwanIn on their social media.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the 108 members of the European Parliament, Belgian and Luxembourgish parliaments that took part in this joint initiative.
Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the WHO can contribute to its important work on public health. While striving for full integration into WHO mechanisms, Taiwan will continue to proactively cooperate with like-minded partners to help address global public health challenges.
