Taiwanese Vehicle Safety Certification Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European New Car Assessment Programme in Belgium

On September 1, 2023, the Taiwanese Vehicle Safety Certification Center (VSCC) and the European Association for New Car Safety Assessment (Euro NCAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Euro NCAP headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. Going forward, the two parties will promote close cooperation on the exchange of information and arrange consultations with regard to the set-up, operation and management of a new vehicle assessment safety performance programme,“TNCAP”, so as to jointly improve vehicle safety, reduce the probability of car accidents and casualties, and minimize social costs.
The Vice Minister of Transportation and Communications, and concurrently President of the VSCC, Mr. Wen-Jong Chi, and the President of Euro NCAP, Mr. Niels Ebbe Jacobsen signed the communication and cooperation MOU to facilitate further bilateral cooperation on both sides.
Euro NCAP is based in Belgium and is backed by several European governments, the insurance industry, and motoring and consumer organizations. Over the past 25 years, it has provided European motorists with a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of popular cars, and has become the most renowned car assessment institution around the world.
