On April 26, Ambassador Roy Chun Lee was invited by the Ministry of Labor of Taiwan and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) to deliver a remarks at the opening ceremony of the "3rd EU-Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Cooperation Meeting". The meeting, which kicked off with remarks from the Labor Minister of Taiwan Ming-Chun Hsu and Ambassador Lee, was led by EU-OSHA Executive Director William Cockburn and Director-General of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor of Taiwan (Taiwan-OSHA) Tzu-Lian Tzou.
In his remarks, Ambassador Lee congratulated both parties on the successful cooperation, and noted that the EU is consistently Taiwan's largest source of foreign direct investment and fourth largest export destination. He emphasized that cooperation among global supply chain partners is a key element in promoting occupational health and safety and reaffirmed that the Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium is always ready to provide any assistance from Brussels in this agenda. Through various platforms, he concluded, the EU and Taiwan can work together to make workplaces safer, healthier, and more efficient.
