CECC moves Fiji and Laos to its list of medium-risk countries as infections in two countries continue to rise

On April 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that a cluster of local infections resulting from imported cases recently occurred in Fiji, and that local cases in Laos increased rapidly in recent weeks. Therefore, the CECC will move the two countries to its list of medium-risk countries/regions from low-risk countries/regions, effective immediately. The latest list of the risk categories for countries/regions is as follows:
1. Low-risk countries/regions: New Zealand, Macao, Palau, Brunei, Nauru, the Marshall Islands, Bhutan, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam.
2. Medium-risk countries/regions: Hong Kong, Fiji, Laos.
