Hon. Gaspar Vega Leads the Delegation of Belize to Attend the Inauguration of the Fourteenth President and Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan)

Belize sends a Celebrate Mission to the Republic of China (Taiwan) to attend the inauguration ceremony of the country’s 14th President Dr. Tsai Ing-wen, and Vice President Dr. Chen Chien-jen.
The Delegation is headed by Hon. Gaspar Vega, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Environment and Sustainable Development of Belize. Other members include Mrs. Marilene Vega, wife of the Deputy Prime Minister; Hon. Wilfred Elrington, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Mrs. Barbara Elrington, wife of Hon. Wilfred Elrington.
During its five days duration in Taiwan, the Delegation will attend the Inauguration Ceremony at Office of the President on May 20. Hon. Vega and Hon. Wilrington will meet with President Tsai and Vice President Chen to extend cordial congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of Belize. They will also visit with their counterparts in Taiwan, both outgoing and incoming.
Tsai Ing-wen, Ph. D., London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and the first female President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), was elected by people of Taiwan in a general election held on January 16 2016, taking some 56% of the vote. Dr. Tsai will start her four years presidential term on May 20.
