The Embassy keeps working with the Government of Belize on women empowerment by implementing the project of "Enhancing the Economic Empowerment of Women in Belize in the COVID-19 Post Pandemic Era: Technical Assistance for Women's Employment, Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion!"
Today, the Graduation Ceremony of Female Entrepreneurship Program 2022 was held in Orange Walk, organized by BELTRAIDE and under the cooperation framework between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Belize, Taiwan Embassy and TaiwanICDF. The program focused on training female entrepreneurs to use innovative skills and one-on-one consulting sessions to start-up or expand their business. There were total 12 graduates from this program being awarded certificates and proving their capacity and determination for future career.
Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien was delighted to attend the said ceremony, jointly with Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize, H.E. Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, H.E. Jaime Briceño, Ambassador of Investment and Deputy Chair of BELTRAIDE, as well as His Worship Ladrick Sheppard, Mayor of Orange Walk. During their remarks, both Hon. Prime Minister Briceno and Ambassador Chien congratulated all the graduates and reiterated the importance of women empowerment and the true friendship between Belize and Taiwan.
Taiwan will continue to cooperate with Belize to promote female entrepreneurship of MSMEs in Belize and to enhance the benefits of Belizean people.
