Taiwan keeps standing with Belize to build up the “Girl’s Power” together!!!
It’s so delighted and honored for Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien to be invited to attend “Let Girls Learn Culmination Ceremony” today, jointly with Hon. Dr. Louis Zananeh, Minister of State in Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology, Ms. Katherine Meighan, President of Rotary Club of Belize, Ms. Deborah Sewell, Managing Director of Love Foundation, and Mr. Robert Pan, Chief of Taiwan Technical Mission, to witness the completion of the meaningful program for a hundred young girls in Belize. Ambassador Chien was also pleasant to greet his good friends, including Hon. Carolyn Trench-Sandiford, President of the Senate, Hon. Dolores Balderamos-García, Minister of Human Development, Families & Indigenous Peoples' Affairs, and His Worship Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City, who participated in the ceremony as the special guests.
The training program “Let Girls Learn”, organized by Rotary Club of Belize and funded by Taiwan ICDF under the Belize-Taiwan cooperative framework of the Project titled "Enhancing the Economic Empowerment of Women in Belize in the COVID-19 Post Pandemic Era: Technical Assistance for Women's Employment, Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion," aimed to train and empower a hundred young girls who are 8 to 13 year-old and live in marginalized areas in Belize by providing them with socio-emotional learning and basic literacy focusing on reading, writing and comprehension. Through the program, we hope these girls can build up their confidence, knowledge and capacity thus help path the way to the brighter future.
