The Embassy is delighted to welcome a Taiwanese television crew, including journalist Ms. Yu-Shin Chen and videographer Mr. Jung-Chun Hsu from Taiwan Hakka Television Station to visit Belize from September 5-16. The Hakka TV Station runs a national public Hakka channel, with the aim of preserving and promoting the language and culture of Hakka people, a Chinese subgroup.
The Hakka TV crew is visiting Belize to cover topics such as Taiwan-Belize relationship, traditional Mayan Culture, as well as Belize’s policies on ocean and environmental sustainability, and preserving minority languages and cultures. The Embassy would like to thank Education Minister Francis Fonseca, CEO Kennedy Carrillo in Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation and related officials, as well as Mr. Alex Chang and Mr. Eric Chang, former and current Presidents of the Hakka Association of Belize respectively for granting the crew interviews.
The Embassy believes that the TV’s program about Belize will help to promote Belize in Taiwan and deepen Taiwan people’s understanding of this beautiful Jewel.
