On October 5th, 2023, The Embassy hosted a reception celebrating 112th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Around 250 guests were in attendance, including Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam, Prime Minister John Briceño, former Governor General Sir Colville Young, members of the Cabinet and National Assembly, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, media and businesses, as well as members of Taiwanese community.
At the reception, 6 Taiwanese artists living in Belize, Ms. Yaoling Lee, Ms. Fiona Hsu, Mr. Lucky Chiang, Mr. Johnny Chiang, Mr. Steve Wu and Ms. Amy Wu, were invited to exhibit their artworks inspired by the beauty of Belize.
In addition, Mr. Jin Fuh Hua, an indigenous people from Paiwan tribe, blessed the event with traditional songs and Belizean singer Boss Lady sang “Let me take you there”, a song she composed to highlight the friendship between Taiwan and Belize. The reception also showcased Taiwan’s gourmet food such as stir-fried vermicelli, pan-fired dumplings and pineapple cakes.
