The 2024 Taiwan Seafood and Cacao Trade Mission visiting Belize (2024/03/28)

The Embassy is pleased that the 2024 Taiwan Seafood and Cacao Trade Mission had successfully concluded a visit to Belize from March 23-27. The mission was organized by Taiwan’s Central America Trade Office (CATO) and comprised of 9 representatives from Taiwanese companies to explore trade opportunities within Belize.
The Taiwanese delegation met with key Belizean officials including Amb. Amalia Mai, CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Dr. Leroy Almendarez, Executive Director of BELTRAIDE, Mr. Ishmael Lucien Quiroz, Executive Director of the Economic Development Council, and Mr. Lincoln Blake, Director of Investment Policy and Compliance Unit. With BELTRAIDE’s assistance, the delegation also visited several private sector companies, such as Rainforest Seafoods Ltd., Royal Mayan Shrimp Farm Ltd., Paradise Shrimp Farm Ltd., the Belize Northern Fishermen Cooperative Society, and cocoa-related enterprises including Maya Mountain Cacao Ltd., Finca Chocolat and Corridgeree Belize Farms Ltd.
The Embassy welcomes such trade missions from Taiwan and will work closely with the Government of Belize to continue promoting economic relations between our two countries.
