On May 13, Ambassador Lily Li-Wen Hsu handed over a generous donation from a Taiwanese NGO, the Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation, to Hon. Kevin Bernard, Minister of Health & Wellness of Belize. The donation included 240 adult wheelchairs, 50 children's wheelchairs, 80 steel commodes, 160 aluminum walkers, and 400 aluminum walking sticks. CEO Dr. Julio Sabido, Director Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa, Director Dr. Jorge Polanco in the Ministry and Mr. Robert Pan, Chief of Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize also attended the ceremony.
The generous donation is a testament to the deep friendship between our two peoples. It also showcases the strong partnership in public health between our two nations. Taiwan will continue to work closely with the Government of Belize to improve the healthcare system of Belize and thus promote the well-being of Belizean people. The Embassy would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of Belize for supporting Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Organization (WHO) and its annual Assembly.
