The Embassy was pleased to receive the 2024 Taiwan Economic and Business Cooperation Mission coming to explore potential trade and investment opportunities in Belize from Sep. 5 to 8.
The delegation was comprised of representatives from various Taiwanese companies across green energy, high-tech, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and finance sectors.
Their visit kicked off with the Belize-Taiwan Business Connect event organized by the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry, where the delegation engaged with over 40 local business representatives in productive B2B meetings, laying the groundwork for future partnerships.
In addition to the B2B event, the delegation visited BELTRAIDE and the Ministry of Foreign Trade, to gain a deeper understanding of Belize’s trade and investment environment, regulations, and potential opportunities. They also had the opportunity to exchange views with high-ranking officials, including Hon. Dr. Osmond Martinez, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mrs. Narda Garcia, CEO of the Office of the Prime Minister and Ministry of Investment, Mr. Carlos Pol, CEO of the Ministry of Economic Development, Mr. Ishmael Quiroz, Executive Director of BELTRAIDE, Mr. Andy Sutherland, Director General of Directorate General for Foreign Trade, and Mr. Lincoln Blake, Director of Investment Policy and Compliance Unit.
The Embassy warmly welcomes such trade missions from Taiwan and remains committed to working closely with the Government and the private sector of Belize to continue strengthening the economic ties between our two nations.
