A BIG SHOUT-OUT to the amazing NATMA International Medical Mission in Belize! (2024/10/19)

In Oct. 14-18, the Embassy was honored to support the Belize Medical Mission, organized by the North American Taiwanese Medical Association (NATMA), which brought crucial medical care to Belizean communities. Here are some of their remarkable achievements:

✅ Primary Care: 1,798 patient consultations

✅ Surgical Team: 56 operations and 29 additional consultations

✅ Ophthalmology: 45 cases treated

✅ Dental Team: 304 cases addressed

We thank the Ministry of Health and Wellness, particularly Dr. Jorge Polanco, and the dedicated teams at KHMH, WRH, NRH, Dental Department, and HECOPAB as well as BCVI, the Belize Chinese Christian Church, Belmopan City Council, Belize City Council, San Estevan Lions Club, and all other partners for making this mission possible.

Special thanks to Prime Minister John Briceño for welcoming the delegation and visiting the mission site, and to Minister of Health Kevin Bernard for presenting Certificate of Appreciation to each member of the medical team.

Through this joint effort, we continue to strengthen the bond between Taiwan and Belize, fostering further cooperation in healthcare and beyond.
