On May 17, the Embassy, together with the Belize Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, held the 2025 WHA Beach Walk & Clean-up. Now in its third year, this event brought together nearly 100 participants, including members of Taiwanese diaspora, Belizean friends, Embassy and Taiwan Technical Mission staff. We walked along the Belize City coastline to clean the environment and show support for Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Assembly (WHA).
This annual walk is more than just a community activity. It reflects Taiwan’s ongoing commitment to public health, environmental protection, and global cooperation. It also celebrates the strong and growing friendship between Taiwan and Belize.
In line with World Health Organization’s vision of “Health for All,” this clean-up effort is a shared action that promotes healthy living, protects our environment, and supports inclusive global health cooperation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Taiwanese community in Belize for their active participation that makes this event a meaningful tradition.
We thank especially to the young Belizean friends from Taiwan Technical Mission’s Mandarin Language Program for their strong support this year. Besides participating in the clean-up, they also learned about traditional activities such as Zongzi(rice dumplings)-shaped sachet making and riddle games as we are celebrating the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, adding some cultural elements to the event.
We walk for health and friendship.
We walk for a cleaner environment.
We walk for a world where no one is left behind.
