Advancing Taiwan-Belize Cooperation in Smart Aquaculture

The Embassy of ROC (Taiwan) in Belize, in collaboration with BELTRAIDE, was very pleased to host the 2025 Smart Aquaculture Market Exploration Delegation, organized by the CATO (Central America Trade Office) in Taiwan.

The delegation visited Fein Catch, Rainforest Seafoods, the Northern Fishermen Cooperative Society, Paradise Shrimp Farms, Bel-Euro Aquaculture, and National Fishermen Cooperative, gaining firsthand insights into Belize’s strength in sustainable harvesting, advanced processing, and quality-controlled aquaculture. The delegation also met with H.E. Katherine Meighan, the newly appointed Ambassador of Belize to Taiwan; Mr. Andy Sutherland, Director General for Foreign Trade; and BELTRAIDE Executive Director Mr. Ishmael Quiroz, exchanging views on how to advance trade and investment between the two countries.

Following the recent opening of Taiwan market to Belizean shrimp, the delegation’s opportune visit was well received and very much welcomed.
We look forward to more substantive bilateral economic cooperation to come.
