The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has launched the International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP), which offers students from Belize the opportunity to participate in short-term research internships at universities and research institutions in Taiwan.
- Program Overview
The IIPP aims to strengthen academic exchange between Taiwan and Belize by enabling Belizean students to engage in hands-on research projects under the supervision of Taiwanese host institutions. Internship opportunities are offered in accordance with the research projects proposed by participating host institutions, as listed on the official IIPP platform (link provided below).
- Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Belizean national
- Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program at a university in Belize
- Fulfill the eligibility requirements specified by the respective intern positions and host institutions (please refer to the official IIPP platform)
- Internship Period and Duration
- Internship period: June to December 2026
- Duration: 28 to 90 days, depending on the intern positions and host institutions
- Financial Support
Interns will receive a subsidy of NT$1,000 (approximately BZD 60) per day during the approved internship period, in accordance with NSTC program regulations. The interns are responsible for his/her own international airfare, accommodation and other expenses.

Interested students may register on the official IIPP online platform starting now. After submitting the required registration information, applications will undergo a review process. Once approved, applicants may submit applications for available intern positions directly through the platform.
