To accelerate the “Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project” and encourage Taiwanese businesses to invest in diplomatic allies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has revised the “Financial Assistance to Encourage Business Entrepreneurs to Invest in Countries Having Diplomatic Relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan),” effective July 1. Key changes include:
• Expanded scope of eligible subsidy items.
• Increased maximum subsidy amount from NT$20 million to NT$60 million.
• Raised airfare subsidy cap to NT$100,000 to offset rising international travel costs.
Subsidies will be processed on a “first-come, first-reviewed” basis. The Embassy of Taiwan in Belize reminds overseas Taiwanese entrepreneurs to:
1. Complete “Attachment 1 – Survey Form” and email it to the Embassy for registration.
2. Complete “Attachment 2 – Application Form” (including photos of factory operations) and email it to the Embassy for filing.
Applications must meet all requirements; otherwise, they will be returned for correction and reviewed later. Disqualification conditions include:
• Investment amount below US$100,000.
• Taiwanese ownership below 50%.
• Salary payment proof without CPA audit report.
