The Toronto branch of the Overseas Chinese Associations held a flag-raising ceremony on October 10 at 10:10 AM to celebrate the National Day. With blue skies, white clouds, and bright sunshine warming everyone’s hearts, the sight of the flag rising moved all overseas compatriots with their united patriotism. Director General Jin-Ling Chen and nearly 100 members of the Taiwanese community participated, celebrating the birthday of the Republic of China together!
DG Chen expressed that over the past three years, I’ve witnessed the continuous growth of Taiwan-Canada relations, in which the overseas community has played a vital role. More and more people now know that Taiwan and China are separate countries. Taiwan is recognized as a beacon of freedom and democracy in Asia, and its world-leading semiconductor industry is well-known and appreciated globally. Like Canada, Taiwan values gender diversity and inclusion, which strengthens the bilateral friendship. I believe that with the unity of people at home and abroad, Taiwan will continue to thrive.
