As part of the Asian Heritage Month celebrations, the National Taiwan University of Sport brought their powerful performance, Amazing Taiwan, to the stage—blending dance, music, and drama to tell the rich and vibrant stories of Taiwan.
Director-General Lawrence Liang of TECO in Toronto delivered opening remarks, expressing heartfelt thanks to Mayor Frank Scarpitti of Markham for his continued support. “It’s truly an honor to meet the Mayor at various events,” said Liang. “Having such a down-to-earth and visionary leader is a true blessing for this city.”
The students from Taiwan, calm and composed, are in fact highly skilled professionals—and tonight, they proudly shared their talent and passion with the local community. The warm applause and encouragement from the audience made them feel right at home.
Mayor Scarpitti also expressed his joy in meeting Director-General Liang and pride in the Taiwanese community for enriching the city of Markham. He encouraged everyone to enjoy the beauty of Taiwanese art and culture, and shared hopes for even closer ties between Hsinchu County and Markham as sister cities in the future.
