At the anniversary celebration held May 12th at the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library, Director General Liang remarked that the establishment of TRCCS represents more than just an exchange of historical documents and research materials—it is also a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue between Taiwan and Canada. He emphasized that we will continue to support this collaboration, expanding into the realm of digital resources to benefit future research and scholars.
Director-General Han-Ching Wang of the National Central Library also highlighted the importance of the partnership with the University of Toronto. Over the past decade, this collaboration has led to a series of successful events that have fostered ongoing exchange and mutual understanding.
Since its launch in 2012, the TRCCS initiative has established over 50 centers at universities and research institutions around the world. It has become a vital hub for scholars of Chinese studies to conduct in-depth and unrestrained research, while also embodying Taiwan's commitment to academic freedom, research freedom, and freedom of expression.
