Manitoban Taiwanese Community Celebrates Asian Heritage Month with Passion!

The “TAIWAN WAY Cultural Pavilion” made a vibrant return to Manitoba’s Taste of Asia Festival, showcasing Taiwan’s rich culture, creativity, and culinary charm!
To mark the occasion, Director-General Lawrence Liang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Toronto and Director Paul Lan of the Overseas Community Affairs Council joined the celebration in Winnipeg. Together with Hon. Malaya Marcelino, MLA for Notre Dame, Minister of Labour and Immigration, and Hon. Mintu Sandhu, Minister of Public Service Delivery took part in a lively parade in front of the Manitoba Legislative Building. Leaders from the local Taiwanese communities — including President George Wong and Vice President Kessler Wu of the Manitoba Chinese Cultural Society, and President Alex Lee of the Taiwanese Association of Manitoba — joined the celebration along with enthusiastic Canadian friends ??.
The Taiwan pavilion was a major highlight, drawing crowds with its irresistible offerings — from Taiwanese sausages, bubble tea ?, and egg cakes, to zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), traditional toys, and creative cultural products. Organizers from Foodtrip Market praised the Taiwan booth for its energy, originality, and warm community spirit.
Director-General Liang and Director Lan personally thanked the overseas Taiwanese community for their dedication to cultural exchange.
