Legalization of Swiss Criminal Record
A legalization of a Swiss criminal record works the same as a regular legalization, but since it is a federal document, it has to be legalized (attested) by the Federal Chancery of Switzerland. A legalization can be ordered through the website of the Swiss Federal Department of Justice (see: https://www.e-service.admin.ch/crex/cms/content/strafregister/strafregister_en). You can ask for an attestation of the document when you order it.
Swiss Diploma, Enrollment Certificates and Confirmation of Studies
A legalization of Swiss diploma, enrollment certificates or confirmation of studies works the same as a regular legalization, except for documents from ETH or EPFL. Since those two are federal institutions, they have to be legalized by the Swiss federal Chancery (Bundeskanzlei).
As an exception from the rule, true copies of diploma can be legalized, but only if the copy was made by the same institution that made the original and only if the signature of the person issuing it was legalized by the relevant Swiss State Chancery.
