The NATURAMA Musuem in Svendborg, Fyn will showcase the paper art exhibition "Papirkunst...Made in Taiwan" by Hung Hsin-fu from October 20 through November 25, 2012.
Together with the museum, Taipei Representative Office hosted a reception for the opening of the exhibition on October 19, 2012. Hung's paper works are creative and innovative, with subjects as diverse as animals, folk stories, insects, aquarium life, endangered species, musical instruments, people, architecture, and religion.
A total of 70 artworks are on display at NATURAMA, including paper art on a series of different insects, fishes, and animals from Taiwan. In combination to the exhibition, there were also tourism, cultural background as well as ecological information of Taiwan on site.
The reception kicked off with opening speeches by the museum's curator, Jacob Salvig, and Representative Hsu. On that day, approximately 60 tourists were very lucky to get a chance to taste homemade Taiwanese snacks while enjoying the exhibition.
Hung came all the way from Taiwan to teach the audience some basic paper-cutting skills. Paper-cutting is not only lively and easy to learn, but also initiates fun interaction amongst adults and children. The paper-cutting workshops were undoubtedly the center-of-attention of the day.
