Deputy Foreign Minister François Wu hosted a luncheon for the visiting delegation of Danish parliamentarians on November 27th, 2025, expressing gratitude for the Danish Parliament's support for Taiwan's international participation and its concern for the peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
Deputy Minister Wu stated that Taiwan and Denmark are like-minded partners sharing the same value of democracy and freedom. He hoped that the two countries would continue to deepen bilateral relations and friendly cooperation on the basis of mutual trust and benefit. Taiwan continues to face military threats and incursions from China, while the international order faces challenges from the rise of authoritarian regimes. Deputy Minister Wu appealed that only through the unity and mutual support of all democratic partners can the ambitions of authoritarian expansion be curbed. Furthermore, the remarkable achievements of Taiwan's semiconductor industry today owe much to the long-term close cooperation between the high-tech industries of Taiwan and Europe. In the future, Taiwan will continue to uphold the concept of shared prosperity, working with international partners to promote global prosperity and security. He also hoped that the delegation's visit would yield fruitful results and that they would continue to assist in enhancing substantive exchanges and cooperation in various fields after returning home.
Kasper Roug, head of the delegation and vice chair of the Danish Parliament's Taiwan Friendship Group, said he was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the Taiwanese people during his visit and praised their unwavering resilience in the face of Chinese military coercion. Vice chair Roug also highly commended Taiwan's achievements in semiconductors, technology, and democratic resilience, and welcomed the deepening exchanges between Taiwan and Denmark and other European countries in recent years. Upon returning home, he will continue to urge the Danish government to pay attention to the situation across the Taiwan Strait and support democratic Taiwan.
