8 Opposition Members of Parliament lead by Party Leader Hon. Viliame Gavoka and Hon. Ro Teimumu Kepa visited the Sigatoka based Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) farm on 17 June 2022 where they were briefed on the history of TTM farm and its important role it plays in Fiji's agriculture & aquaculture sectors.
A year after Fiji gained Independence, Taiwan establishe Diplomatic Mission Office in Suva now known as Taipei Trade Office in Fiji and later opened TTM in 1978. For decades TTM has assisted local farmers in production of various crops and most recently with the popular Pearl Guavas and dragon fruits.
TTM has worked with RFMF Nasinu Farm training their soldiers and in 2018 set up a Fish Hatchery Station in Caboni as part of its Aquaculture development project in Fiji. Most recently Taiwan through its TTM is injecting 3 Million Fiji Dollars into construction of 2 smart farms in Nausori and completion scheduled for 2023.
