We had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished delegation comprising Research Fellow Fang-Ting Cheng, Dr. Kosei Yamada, and Mr. Toshihisa Nakamura from the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO), alongside Mr. Chun-Ching Tu, a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at Rutgers University, for an engaging and wide-ranging exchange with Amb. David Cheng-Wei Wu.
The visiting scholars shared firsthand insights from their recent participation in the UNFCCC Pre-COP31 meeting in Nadi, Fiji. From the perspectives of international relations and geopolitical security, they engaged in a deep dive with Amb. Wu into the far-reaching impacts of climate change across the Pacific region and the globe??
Amb. Wu outlined Taiwan’s proactive initiatives and contributions toward climate change mitigation. He highlighted the recent launch of the World Alliance for Disaster Management (WADM) just weeks ago, underscoring Taiwan’s commitment and concrete actions to deepen disaster prevention and management collaboration with international partners
In the face of global climate challenges, Taiwan remains a responsible and indispensable partner to the international community. We look forward to continuing this fruitful dialogue with global scholars and think tanks as we work together toward a more resilient world!
