Taiwan Representative to Greece and Bulgaria Sherman S. Kuo, who is based in Athens, traveled to Sofia, then to Buzovgrad on December 3 to attend a public ceremony held at Maria Louisa Medical-Social Center (MLMSC) for the donation of a mini-bus equipped for the disabled children and patients.
The ceremony was also attended by Amb. Camillo Zuccoli and Minister-Counsellor Bogdan Patashev of the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta and Buzovgrad local leaders and media.
Representative Kuo said that his office, the Taipei Representative Office in Greece was honored to be able to offer financial contribution to this important purchase of a minibus for Maria Louisa Medical Social Center. He hoped it would benefit the children and patients and help lighten the financial burden on this respectable organization.
He also expressed his appreciation to Amb. Zuccoli for connecting his office with the ML MSC. “Our office has had various opportunities to work with the Embassy of Sovereign Order of Malta and local medical and social organizations on projects of humanitarian causes here in Bulgaria for many years, “ he said.
Taiwan received aid from the United States when still poor and underdeveloped in the 1960s. But after its economy took off in the 1980s, it has begun to repay its debt to the international community by providing assistance. “Taiwan will continue to take the role as a humanitarian aid provider, “ added the Taiwan Representative.
