Visa applicants who intend to visit Taiwan and work there for a period shorter than 180 days must submit the required documents and pay the visa fee at the nearest ROC Embassy, Consulate or Representative Mission to apply for a Visitor Visa (Single Entry).
- The required documents are as below
(1) Completed and signed visa application form. Visit the website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/ to fill out the application form online and print it out;
(2) Passport valid for at least six more months after entering Taiwan (original & photocopy of the page with the applicant's photo);
(3) Two passport-size biometric photos in color taken within 6 months;
(4) Seaman's book;
(5) Cover letter issued by the original employer;
(6) Invitation issued by the host company or competent institution in Taiwan(The nationality of the vessel shall be specified. Where such information is not indicated, applicants shall provide the Ship's Nationaliy Certificate.)
(7) Contract signed between the original employer and the Taiwanese company, or between applicant and the Taiwanese company;
(8) Flight ticket;
(9) Work permit issued by the R.O.C. (Taiwan) Ministry of Labor or Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
- Appointments shall be made via email in advance.
- Please note, that if any of the required documents was issued in foreign language, it has to be translated by a sworn translator into English or Chinese language.
- Applicant may submit visa application not earlier than one month before the date of entering Taiwan.

Notices：Visas are issued as stipulated by Article 12 of the Statute Governing Issuance of ROC Visas for Foreign Passports. As a sovereign nation, the ROC has the right to refuse applications for visas without providing any explanation for such decisions; visa application fee is not refundable.
