Legalization Overview

Foreign documents to be used in R.O.C. (Taiwan) should be authenticated by the Taiwanese overseas mission located in that country in advance.

Documents issued in Ireland must be authenticated in sequence by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and then by our office.
Please note that, according to current regulations, documents issued outside of Ireland will not be accepted by our office.

Application Procedure

Prepare all required documents for legalization at our office.
Submitting your application:
- In-Person Submission: To submit your application in person, please schedule an appointment with our office by emailing twnirl@gmail.com or calling 01-6785413 during office hours. On your appointment date, you will need to submit the required documents and complete the payment.
- Postal Submission: Send all required documents and fees via registered post or a reliable courier service. ※Please note that our office is not liable for any delays or loss of documents during postal delivery.
Application Process: Applications typically take 7-10 working days to process.
Collection: Once your documents are ready, our office will notify you via email or phone. If you selected postal return and provided a prepaid return envelope, we will use it to send your documents back to you. ※For more details about postal services, please visit the "Consular Service Overview" page.

Important Note: Power of attorney, authorization, declaration, and self-made Mandarin translations must be submitted in person.

Required Documents

Before submitting your application, please ensure that all required documents, including the original and its photocopy, are prepared. Missing documents, incomplete information, or unpaid fees may result in delays in processing.

2	Applicant's ID with Birth Date	Both the original ID and a photocopy are required. (A passport is recommended.) The original ID will be returned after on-site verification. However, if submitting by post, include only a photocopy.
3	Agent's ID with Birth Date (if applicable)	Both the original ID and a photocopy are required. (A passport is recommended.) The original ID will be returned after on-site verification. However, if submitting by post, include only a photocopy.
4	Documents to Be Legalized by Our Office	Irish-originated Documents for Individuals (e.g., marriage, birth, criminal record, degree certificates, etc.) Both the original and a photocopy of the document authenticated by the Irish DFA are required. The copy must include the DFA authentication sticker and the DFA officer's signature. For more info on DFA uthentication services, please visit their website. Irish-Originated Documents for Corporations and Companies (e.g., Certificate of Free Sale) Both the original and a photocopy of the document authenticated by the Irish DFA are required. The copy must include the DFA authentication sticker and the DFA officer's signature. Power of Attorney, Authorization, Declaration, Self-Made Mandarin Translations, etc. Please pre-fill these documents, leaving only the signature field blank for the authorizer. The applicant must sign this field in the presence of our consular officers during the in-person appointment.
5	Company's Registration Certificate	Only applicable if you are applying for the legalization of Irish-Originated Documents for Corporations and Companies. 6	Return Envelope (optional)	If you wish to have your documents returned by post or courier, please include a return envelope with the recipient's full name, postal address, and appropriate postage. For more details on postal services, please visit the "Consular Service Overview" page.
7	Consular Fee	€14 per document. Payment options: Exact cash payment in euros. (*Note: Cents will not be accepted.) An Post postal order or Irish bank draft, payable to "Taipei Representative Office in Ireland."
