2026 Taiwan Scholarship is now open for application until May 1st, 2026
The Taiwan Scholarship is provided by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to encourage talented international students to undertake degree study programs in Taiwan and is open to students in a wide range of disciplines. The scholarship program aims to develop outstanding future professionals and experts to meet tomorrow’s needs in a global society while allowing students to familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan and promote communication, understanding, and friendship between Taiwan and the international community.
Scholarship award Value
- The MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program provides the following for each outstanding international students scholarship recipient who comes to Taiwan to undertake a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctorate.
- Each scholarship will cover the tuition fees up to NTD (New Taiwan Dollars, abbreviated NTD) 40,000 ≒1050€ for one academic semester (the amount above NTD 40,000 will be covered by the recipient or the university)
- Monthly living allowance: Undergraduate study: NTD 15,000≒ 400€; Postgraduate study: NTD 20,000 ≒530€
- Flight tickets, health insurances, administration fees, thesis advising fees, insurance premiums, accommodation and internet access, etc. are NOT included.
Number of Awards: 1 Scholarship will be awarded by the Taipei Representative Office in Ireland.
The maximum period of each scholarship is 4 years for undergraduate programs, 2 years for master programs,and 4 years for doctorate programs. The maximum length of the total awards for each recipient undertaking a combination of studies is 5 years. Annual award periods begin on September 1stand continue until August 31st of the following year. Recipients must arrive in Taiwan and enroll at their admitting universities/colleges before registration starts. If recipients fail to arrive in Taiwan on time, their award will be revoked automatically.

Applicants are required to complete the online application through the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Online Application System, or submit their application using the attached application form.

After completing the online application, please print out the application materials and send the hard copies to our office by registered mail. The postmark date will be regarded as the official submission date.
Please note that our office can only accept scholarship applications from Ireland. Applicants who are citizens of another country may apply for the scholarship through the Taiwanese embassy or representative office serving their home country.
