A winner at this year's junior French Open and runner-up at January's event at the Australian Open, Tseng Chun-hsin defeated the home star Jack Draper 6-1 6-7 6-4 in the title match at Wimbledon in two hours and six minutes after breaking his rival seven times. After two hours and six minutes, top-seeded Tseng prevailed 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-4 with a second serve ace. Tseng Chun-hsin arrived at Wimbledon as the top seed and the reigning Roland Garros champion going all the way to lift his second Major crown and become the first player since Gael Monfils in 2004 who has won junior singles crowns at both the Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
“It was a really big achievement,’’ said Tseng, the world No.1 who plans to leave the junior ranks after the Youth Olympics and the US Open and play full-time on the professional tour. “I have to thank so many people that help me to achieve this goal.’’
