Director-General Charles Li of TECC in Chennai in the morning of September 6th paid a visit to the newly-developed Integrated Farm at Ammaiyappanallur, near Kanchipuram, planting a coconut tree, at the invitation of the Seek Foundation and also to tour some of its projects taking place at school and products from the sowing class. There are poultry, goat, cow, fish, vegetable and fruit farms and a solid block factory in the demonstration Integrated Farm. The concept was conceived after the Seek Foundation had sent several of its key members of the supporting staff to Taiwan to participate in workshops hosted by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) in Taiwan in the past three years. Its highest aim is to empower the manpower, men and women alike, in the remote villages to be self-sustained in the very beginning by creating job opportunities and providing skill training. The successful model can be copied to be implemented in any village all over Tamil Nadu, even the entire India, as examples of the Indian role in realizing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
