Director-General Stephen Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in Chennai was invited to visit the A M Jain College on the afternoon of May 12, 2026. He received a warm welcome from the college authorities, and was accompanied throughout the visit by the Principal and senior administrators, who guided him through the campus facilities and academic environment. Both sides engaged in extensive discussions on Taiwan–India higher education cooperation, student exchanges, and academic linkages. During the visit, the college provided a detailed introduction to the development history of A M Jain College, and its recent achievements in promoting international cooperation. DG Hsu was also invited to tour classrooms, the library, research spaces, student activity facilities, and learn more about the institution’s enrollment situation, showcasing the college’s efforts in nurturing young talent and promoting diversified education. The college further shared its experiences in international academic exchanges and expressed strong interest in establishing cooperative relations with Taiwanese universities and colleges in the future. During the exchange session, DG Hsu noted that educational cooperation constitutes an important pillar of Taiwan–India relations. TECC has been actively committed to promoting interaction between higher education institutions on both sides, including student exchange programs, academic research cooperation, Mandarin language education, and talent cultivation initiatives. He further highlighted that Taiwan possesses a high-quality higher education environment and a comprehensive technology industry supply chain, and welcomed more Indian students to pursue studies in Taiwan while encouraging both sides’ institutions to establish closer partnerships. DG Hsu also pointed out that, as Taiwan–India bilateral relations continue to deepen, educational and youth exchanges will become an important foundation for future cooperation. TECC in Chennai will continue to serve as a bridge to facilitate connections between Taiwanese and Indian academic institutions, and to promote cooperation and exchanges in the fields of humanities, technology, and innovation. The visit concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with both sides expressing their expectation to further promote concrete cooperation projects in the future and inject greater momentum into Taiwan–India educational exchanges.
