The Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai and the Tamil Nadu Badminton Association jointly organized a badminton friendship tournament titled “Fitness for Fun in Support of Taiwan’s Participation in the World Health Organization (WHO)” on the morning of May 17, 2026 at the Shuttler by Tiki Taka badminton venue in Chennai.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai and the Tamil Nadu Badminton Association jointly organized a badminton friendship tournament titled “Fitness for Fun in Support of Taiwan’s Participation in the World Health Organization (WHO)” on the morning of May 17 at the Shuttler by Tiki Taka badminton venue in Chennai. A total of 16 teams composed of Indian friends and Taiwanese business representatives participated in the competition. Through this event, Indian friends who had previously studied in Taiwan or participated in various workshops and training programs there were also invited to gather and enjoy the matches together.
Following the tournament, Director General Stephen Hsu officially announced the establishment of the “South India Taiwan Alumni Association” and appointed Sumit Bothra, an international relations scholar from the University of Madras, as its inaugural president. Approximately 100 people attended the event, including distinguished guests such as TNBA Secretary General V. E. Arunachalam and badminton promoter Geoffray D, all showing support for Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Organization.
